An overview of things I use on a daily basis.
- Computer: MacBook Air M2 with 16GB RAM. Probably the best laptop I’ve ever owned apart from a ThinkPad I used at my former company.
- Mouse: Logitech MX Master 3. One of the few items I would immediately buy again as soon as it breaks.
- Keyboard: Keychron K2 Super Blue. This keyboard is affordable and a delight to type on.
- Headphones: Bose QuietComfort. One of the first purchases I made during the pandemic and the headphones are still going strong.
- Browser: Firefox with the following extensions (stars indicate must haves for an emancipatory internet experience):
- Multi-Account Containers ★
- an integral part of my browsing activity. It isolates web activity to the tab only, which means that cookies or other identifiable information are shared with other containers. I have containers for, if I ever use it, Google, Reddit, Amazon (I rarely buy anything anymore from Amazon), banking.
- Adaptive Tab Bar Color
- Changes the color of Firefox theme to match the website’s appearance.
- AdNauseam ★
- service that blocks ads and obfuscates browsing data. Must have!
- LibRedirect ★
- redirects popular sites to alternative privacy-friendly frontends and backends
- Obsidian Web Clipper
- Saves and highlights web pages into Markdown and into my Obsidian vault
- Multi-Account Containers ★
- Terminal: Ghostty.
- Reading: NetNewsWire
- Email: Protonmail. The gold standard of emails. In addition to their email service, I also use Drive and their VPN. I am a heavy user of email aliases, hence, I use SimpleLogin together with Proton.
